Well, I loved football for many years, either playing or watching. The team I liked most is Manchester United in England, which impressed me alot in the years Eric Cantona was in play.
The Red Devils led by Eric Cantona was the most powerful team in England at that time in my point of view. In the year 1995-96, they won the premier league champion by beating NewCastle United. NewCastle led Man. Utd for about 12 points after the first round of the league before Christmas. Everyone thought that NewCastle must win the title that year, but the Red Devil just remained silent and wait for the suitable time to strike back, and Eric must be the person who made those young Devils like Beckham, Scholes more united and do their best and scored many decisive goals for Manchester to win in dangerous moment.
One thing that I couldnt' forget was the final of the FA cup that year. Manchester went into the final with a bad route, with so many tough team to against with. Finally, their opponent was Liverpool. The whole match was boring, with so spare shoot on target, because two team had done their best. At about 90 minutes, when everyone thought of a determination of the champion on the penalties, Eric made a decisive shoot on goal to made the Red Devil the Double Winner that season.
Although after the year Eric retired, Man U had lost their champion to another team Arsenal, but last year, they not only beat the Gunner and won the premiership, but also beat NewCastle and Bayern Munich in the FA cup and UEFA Champion Leagues respectively to be the Treble Winner of the Club historically(they have not won the Champion Leagues for 31 years and were the first club in England to win the Treble).
For the above reason, I loved Manchester United(and Soccer) for many years.
