12.11.2004 Personal

Around 5 o’clock today, Lily, having finished her review session for one of her smarty-pants classes, came to visit/chill/unload about week's events. She also woke me up today around 1. Ooops.

I took a break in my studies to finish watching Season 1 of QAF and she was initiated into my relationship with the series. After finishing that at 6-ish, we went down to the Schwag, ate some gnarly food. We chatted some more while eating, as is custom for the two of us.

Lily's visit culminated in us going to the Senior Film Screening for the fall semester MTA senior students. My favorite film of the evening (because most of the other ones could have used some serious reworking) was one by Juliet Osmond. Awesome, awesome film! It was written as a sort-of contemporary fairy tale, had great visual appeal, excellent editing, and good sound/music/narration. Overall, the film rocked and reminded me very much of the opening of French-film Amélie.

I also went to see the movie Blade Trinity, with my friends Teddy and Mikeal. It actually was better than I thought it would be, and certainly beat out Daredevil (which was Marvel’s worst movie ever). This was sort of a celebration for me, as I only have three final type things left for this semester, and will soon return to Beautiful Downtown Eagle River/Anchorage, Alaska.

12.11.2004 Stupid conservative bastards in the news.

British newspaper, The Independent, (which according to an MP is not-independent, and very “left-of-center”) published a story recounting the latest in a series of unfortunate events for Secretary of Defense Donald “Quacks” Rumsfeld.

The article is entitled “Rumsfeld under fire for ‘hillbilly armour’ used to defend army.” As this is a pretty “left-of-center” paper, the article is fairly badgering of good ol' quacks, and it appeals very much to my liberal sensibilities.

United Nations' Secretary-General Kofi Annan has been receiving a great deal of negative attention from our United States Congress. Unfairly, too. Encourage your congressional delegates to support Mr. Annan by either contacting them and/or signing this petition.
