This is a list of Web page authoring meetings held in April 2000 by several Web SIGs around Cleveland.
The CDPUG Web SIG will have a demonstration/introduction to object oriented programming on April 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Barudun America at 29500 Fountain Parkway in Solon. Directions to this meeting are at the bottom of this announcement.
Matt Wiesfeld is VP of Product Development at preEmptive Solutions, a leading Java technologies company in Cleveland He has over 17 years of software development and project management experience.
Object oriented programming is the basis of both Java and JavaScript as well as most other programming languages used in web site development today. Even if you consider yourself "only" a designer who just copies scripts or lets Dreamweaver or GoLive write them for you, having a basic understanding of how the languages work is very important and will save you a lot of grief in the long run. Matt will give you the tools to understand what you are copying and how to adjust it to your own needs.
We will try to have bagels and coffee available for a small donation so I need you to RSVP by email so I know how many to buy. (I haven't discussed this with Barudun yet and I'll let anyone who RSVPs know if it's not allowed. They are very kindly donating the meeting space to us.)
Although this is officially a function of CDPUG, everyone is welcome. At our first meeting, we had quite a few visitors from GCPCUG and a few of us, including the speaker, with one foot in both groups. It was a great way to learn from each other. We will, of course, encourage you to join CDPUG but that is not a prerequisite.
Directions are to take 480 east to 422 east to Harper Rd exit and go south on Harper. Harper turns into Cochran Road after you pass Aurora Road. You will also go through a big intersection at Solon Road. Fountain Parkway is about one mile south of Solon Road on your right.
Location: Main CHUH Public Library, 2345 Lee Road, two lights and one block south of Cedar Road. (See directions on the GCPCUG Web SIG meetings page. 6:30-8:30 PM
