Well who is testmb? -A computer fan: I work in a computer company as product/purchase manager. My first computers were an Amiga 500 and an Amiga 600 with HD; I've learned to use and to understand how computer work in the last 20 years. When the Amiga died, I switched to the PC. -A music instrument freak: My first organ was an air-driven system, very basic but I've learned my first music pieces with this unit. Then I played a Farfisa 304 Silver where I've learned improvisation in C and F. When I was ready for a more uptodate Keyboard, I've bought an Roland E-86. I've collected over 1000 free music-styles for this keyboard and my passion is to try them and inprovise music songs. As my E-86 became boring I decided to buy a soundmodul with more modern sounds, the Yamaha QY-70 which is a sequencer/arranger/soundmodul . I use also a Roland PC-160 Keyboard to control the Qy-70 for small keyboard parts. From the beginning on I'm interested in playing Drums / Percussions. I use a DrumKat DK10 because I do not have place enough for a real Drumset. When I heard the first time about the madplayer, I decided to buy this generative music composer. It's funny to use. I was never satisfied with the soundquality of expanders so as soon as used samplers became affordable, I bought an used Akai S3000XL sampler. This is a list of my td0 files. These are free sampledisks that i've collected from the internet in the last years. If you are interested please join my akai *.td0 group or email me and we can exchange free td0 sample disk. I realized quickly that the Akai was not portable enough to take it everytime with to play my one shot percussionsounds so I preferred buying a Roland MS-1 sampler. The performance is of course less than the Akai but for triggering samples it's ok. I trigger the samples of the Roland MS-1 with a Simmons Hugger drum to midi trigger Interface. (very rare instrument but works great) It's like a Drumkat but just one pad and 4 trigger inputs. As second arranger to my Roland E-86,I've a Quasimidi Styledrive. I've also an 8 Channel mixer, a Mic and Reverb-unit. I added to my equipment an GEM WX Arranger/Expander which sounds completely different from a Sound canvas for example. A midi controller which I'm using now and having fun is the CASIO DH-100 breathcontroller. It's so amusing playing with it with MIDI. If you have the correct soundpatch setted up than you can play realistic sax, horn and other breathsounds. Incredible! It looks like a toy but very fun to use. The Korg ih is a Vocoder which adds a choir to what you are singing thru a mic. Fun to use -A multimedia Fan: I've a Sony DCR-PC9E miniDV Camcorder and a Minolta Z3 camera. I try to use computer/music/multimedia capapilities to spend my lost time in. So that's all folks or not...... testmb |
