USC - University of Southern California
IGD - Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics
1986-1989 I studied Computer Science (Diplom) at the Technical University of Darmstadt (THD) in Darmstadt, Germany.
1989-1990 I studied Computer Science (MS) at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California. In 1990 I received a Master's Degree in Computer Science from USC.
At USC I was research assistant of Prof. Christoph von der Malsburg . My research was on biologically plausible neural network structures for vision.
1990-1992 I studied Computer Science (Diplom) at the Technical University of Darmstadt, where in 1992 I received a Diplom (=Master's Degree) in Computer Science.
1990-1999 I did project work and research at the Department Visualisation and Virtual Reality of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics (IGD), since 1992 full-time.
At the Fraunhofer Institute I was doing research on Scientific Visualization (Visualization Quality, Volume Visualization, Finite Element Visualization, Geographic Information Systems), on User Interfaces (X/Motif, Virtual Reality), on Internet technology (Java, CGI, ...) and on Human Perception.
On October 29, 1999, I had the defense of my 'Dr.-Ing.' degree (=Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the Technical University of Darmstadt.
Since January 2000 I am employed by danet in Darmstadt/Weiterstadt.
