Cocos Nucifera

3Com^® doesn't want us to use the word palm in any way not approved by them. The most famous palm is the coconut tree and it's latin name is Cocos Nucifera, hence the name of this page.

Excerpt of a letter from 3Com^®:

You may not use Palm, Pilot, Palm III, PalmPilot, Palm OS, HotSync or any other 3Com or Palm Computing trademark as part of your company name, product name, internet domain name or the brand of your company's products or services.

In particular, using Palm as part of your company name, product name, or Internet domain name violates our guidelines.

Finally, we would like to remind you of two other trademark points. First, be careful not to copy the trade dress of other companies. (...)

Second, avoid using trademarked words in both a trademark sense and plain-English sense. Such descriptive use weakens the subconscious link in consumers' minds between the trademarks and their branding message. For example, do not say "XYZ games for the Palm Computing(R) platform: Put some fun in your palm!" Instead, say "XYZ games for the Palm Computing(R) platform: Put some fun in your pocket!"
