Update: Phoebe has now been SOLD thank you for your interest.
Pheobe the 1998 Fiat Cinquecento
Description
Sporty little Fiat with bags of character. She is known as Phoebe the Fiat, a name the previous owner christened her with (she owned her from new), to me she became known as the Pheobster! She comes equipped with a 1.1 Fiat FIRE engine which produces 54bhp! While the performance isn't exactly stunning shes a hoot to drive and makes driving down those backroads immense fun, the low sporting suspension helping out with that cornering - while only taking little sips from the petrol tank returning a good 45-50mpg on a run. Being such a petite little rascal she also can slip into those little parking spots most other cars wouldn't even dream of, she can turn on a sixpence so the town centre is a good as a second home for her.
She also has a stereo - standard fit I'm afraid in fact the Pheobester hasn't been tweeked or modified in any way and she has always been driven with the respect she deserves. She has electric windows both of which function perfectly, no abs, no airbags, no complications, making her a very undemanding car to own and look after. She is as she left the Fiat factory.
Why is she for sale?
She has been used as my commute car for the past couple of years and she has never let me down - flying through the MOT every year. She has been very well maintained by myself and her previous owner (with lots of receipts to back this up). The only reason she is for sale is because I currently have two cars one for weekend fun (Alfa 156 2.5 V6) and Pheobster for commuting - due to a new addition to our family the two cars need to become one, so the Phebester has been offered for sale - for someone else to care for and tickle her accelerator...
Summary
So here we have the facts for all those people that want to cut to the chase out there!
Good
Points:
Low insurance group
Returns ~50mpg on a
commute run.
13months MOT. (had it done early)
Very well
looked after with loads of receipts.
Recent work:-
New
Clutch (<2k ago)
New Exhaust System (<2k ago)
4 New Tyres
New Radiator (past month – <50miles running)
New
Front Brake Pads (past month - <50miles running)
Bad
Points:
Mileage is high (119k) but engine runs really
well and most of the mileage
is from commute runs to work
(motorway/A road mix). Oil is nice and clean
and she isn't chewing
up any....
Finally..
She
would make an ideal car for a first driver - shes sporty looking
without high insurance grouping, looks much nicer than a Micra, Corsa
or Fiesta and would provide a good few years cheap motoring.
(see recent work carried out above!).
So what are you waiting for? Come an meet the Pheobster she waiting to be cared for by someone else but remember viewing is strictly by appointment only so make sure you give a call first! Thanks for looking and taking the time to read this. Look forward to welcoming you to the cult that is Fiat Cinquecento ownership, not just a lump of metal - a car with a soul and personality all of their own!
