Hi, I'm Morris Hirsch.
Caution! My photo appears more pleasant than the
actual person!
Some of my interests are:
- Programming.
After
programming for a living for twenty years,
it would be bad if I did not enjoy it.
I would like to share some
Java techniques
that may save you some time and trouble.
- Contradancing.
Here are some local contra dances
I get to often.
Contradancing is so much fun,
that some people contradance
too often.
- Other Local Events.
Aquidneck Island
a nice place to live,
offers lots to do,
even after the summer visitors go home.
Some events coming soon are
Tall Ships 2000
and
Black Ships Festival 2000
- Going Off the Island.
Crossing a bridge does offer
many more choices
of nearby events.
- Steam Up!
Engines of all sizes,
from hand held models to mill engines,
at
The New England Steam and Wireless Museum
will be running on Saturday 7 October.
- Writing.
Mostly
children's short stories,
or more exactly writing them down in the morning,
after telling them as bedtime stories.
And making Silly T Shirts,
if that counts as writing.
- I enjoy "old technology" such as steam engines,
tube radios,
cars old enough to have tube radios,
and fountain pens.
Of these,
I have only
fountain pens,
they are the smallest.
- My family
- The amazing world around us. Really!
My current favorite critter is --
The Hagfish
