One of the best-known is
p/4 = 1 - 1/3 + 1/5 - 1/7 + ....
This formula is sometimes attributed to Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz
(1646-1716) but is seems to have been first
discovered by James Gregory
(1638-1675).
