Return

Picard's love interest was a babe. The script was funny. The cast does its stuff nicely. And Picard is proving, more and more, that he's not the calm diplomat to Kirk's man of action. I always enjoy watching him kick ass. (Oh, wait. I just enjoy watching *him*. Never mind.) The villain was weak. The death of the secondary villain is possibly the most gruesome ever hinted at in a Trek film.

The world was very Northern California. Including the lack of attention to the gardens. (We would be too busy having great sex and cooking, Chloe.)

Given the silly premise. Given the fact that there were far more interesting things to have focused on. Given all that. Take the plot as granted. I still have one question:

Why the hell would the lives of 600 people be more important than eternal life for the entire universe? That is just the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

But it was fun to watch anyway. Pretty scenery, pretty people, and Trekdom goes on.

One scary thought. The rays from the rings allowed the Enterprise crew to recapture feelings from their lost youth. Lost? What do you mean, lost! This is the *new* Trek cast! The next generation! The one that has been around for.....11 years.

And that pleasant little thought has me feeling quite old.
