I caught "Suicide Kings" recently.
It's a mediocre but interesting film, sort of Reservoir Dogs as
written by Whit Stilman. Christopher Walken, who plays a
'retired' ex mob boss, is one of the few actors who can pull off
being tied to a chair and held hostage and convincingly tell his
kidnappers that if they let him go right now he'll let them live.
The movie unfortunately can't decide whether or not it wants to
be a black comedy and often veers into boring melodrama, and the
overall level of writing and directing is not great, but along
the way Walken gets many chances to shine, especially as he plays
with their heads and sets them against each other. The sight of
him with shoulder length hair in a seventies flashback was a
riot.
