I also watched Next Best Thing, the Rupert Everett-Madonna buddy flick. Madonna is no Julia Roberts. In fact, she only plays one role, Madonna. Her inablity to stretch any kind of believability in her character took the air out of the movie from the beginning.

No, you are not baby. Rupert Everett tried to play a gay everyman, not too successfully, but yes, he can act when called upon it. In fact, during the maudlin part about custody over their child, his rage and hurt seemed real.
I believe Cellar (or somebody else) panned this when it came out. I agree. Nice individual shots of Everett and Madonna's character's boyfriend in their underwear.
