So I come home from Blockbuster yesterday with two movies -
one for the kids, and one for my wife and I. After the kids
watched theirs and went to bed, I popped ours in. It was to be a
surprise (I had hidden the box).
The movie starts, and my wife groans and mutters sarcastically
something like Oh - this looks real interesting...
ME: No - really! This is supposed to be a pretty good movie.
WIFE: (Loud groan)...Don't tell me this is another
movie your little Mote buddies recommended... (She still
hasn't gotten over There's Something About Mary).
Actually, I don't remember anyone actually recommending this
movie, so I wasn't really lying when I said, gulping, Uh...no,
hon. I read a review in Time or something. But discussion of
the movie in here did pique my interest, and I actually
did like the movie.
Anyway, the movie was The Thirteenth Warrior. It was
your basic Buy-the-premise,-buy-the-flick sort of movie, with a
very interesting premise.
I couldn't help thinking all through it, though, that with an
update it would've made a great biker movie.
