Well, I saw the X-Files movie. My most lasting impressions are
a - If you gotta blow up someplace, it may as well be Dallas.
b - Nice avalanche.
c - It was definitely better than the TV show. No commercials!
d - I imagine that going into this cold (not that such a thing is
really possible in the US) would be utterly baffling. The
beginning of the movie is great for picking up where the show
leaves off, makes no sense as the beginning of a story, while the
conclusion isn't really a conclusion.
My recommendation to the producers; get the show off the air, and
make The X-Files a weekly short subject serial playing in front
of big attractions. That way you get to keep the commercials out,
keep the budget up, make a bunch of money from ticket sales, and
increase the and boost Fox Films' attendance to their 'full
length' films (I would imagine Fox wouldn't want to pair an
attraction like this with films from competing studios.) Best of
all, maybe it could revive the classic matinee line-up!
