Return

rented johns; a '96 film about young homeless men who have to turn "tricks" (sexual favors) to get by in L.A. starring David Arquette & Lukas Haas (thanks IMDB).

this was a decent film. i was more than a little surprised that Arquette was capable of carrying a movie more or less on his own. Haas was kind of boring, but he was just there as foil for Arquette anyway.

not much to say about it other than it was a little sobering in that some people appear to be just throw-aways in life and how that's not fair. well, it's not as this film shows. however, i didn't feel like i was preached to. Arquette's character was no angel - had chances to leave and chose his life. it was true in that sense - people, by and large, choose the life they life one way or another.

anyway, wouldn't plan a night around it, but a good one to pick up to fill out that 2-for-1 offer.
