Video Update:
Rented The General's Daughter and was surprised to find a pretty tight and enjoyable movie. i was prepared to hate it and wanted to especially when Travolta starts out the movie with an extremely annoying southern accent. however, it was quickly dropped so i lost what little i had to dislike about the movie.
the movie revolves around a murder of, you guessed it, the daughter of a general on a military base and is investigated by a military career minded cop (Travolta) and some kinda unnecessary rape counselor chick. my favorite scene is one in which James Woods and Travolta try to out smart-ass and out think the other and the two seem to be enjoying it as much as the audience.
all in all, the was a good flick worth a rental. a real sleuth probably woulda guessed the ending, but i never can so i was pleasantly surprised even though NOW it seems obvious.
