caught The Watcher this past weekend (speaking of James Spader upthread a bit). i liked it even if it wasn't terribly original. another serial killer taunting the FBI agent with his killings before he commits them. yawn.
Spader was good. it was nice to see him working. but then, i've had such a liking for him ever since the superb Three Days in the Valley. he was very convincing as the burn-out cop who oh-by-the-way has a personal connection to Reeves.
Reeves, btw, wasn't terrible. i like the way this flick was suited to his inability to act. his quietness was supposed to be menacing and he was dressed all in black - which is a good look for him (just no body suit a la Point Break).
all in all, i'd wait to rent it. but still a nice diversion.
