Anyone going into "American Psycho" with a literal-minded outlook will undoubtedly be disappointed and confused. It's a broad, exaggerated farcical comedy (occasionally somewhat resembling actual satire, though not too terribly often). It's slick, cynical and misanthropic as all hell, and damn funny (much more so than the book). It's also completely disposable and inconsequencial, but ducky's right, Bale is truly excellent.
