I saw Babe2 a week or so ago. It *is* darker in
tone than the original, but see it anyway. Farmer Hoggett is
injured and it is up to Mrs. H and Babe to save the farm from
bankruptcy. Chaos and mayhem ensue. The supporting characters,
human or not, are more eccentric than in the original. The amount
of slapstick in this one could have been reduced, imo, but it is
worth seeing for the sets, which look like a cross between _The
Wizard of Oz_ and _City of Lost Children_ (which is what B2
reminded me of more than anything). Not best picture of the year,
but worth seeing. fwiw, when I saw it, there were only three
children in the audience, all 8-12 years old (my guess).
Mind you, I thought the original Babe was
better than Braveheart, and nothing can convince me otherwise.
