Made by me aquable to the provision of the act entitled “ An Act to provide for Taking the Sixth Census or Enumeration of the Inhabitants of the United States,” have been ascertained by an actual inquiry at every dwelling-house, or a personal inquiry of the head of every family, in exact conformity with the provision of said act; and that I have, in every respect, fulfilled the duties required of me by said act, to the best of my abilities; and that the return aforesaid is corect and true, according to the best of my knowledge and belief.

Be it remembered that , on this Twelfth day of September A. D. 1840, came before me James B. Walker a resident of the County of Tippah and District of North Mississippi, an assistant to the Marshall of the Northern District of Mississippi for performing the duties prescribed by the act of Congress to provide for taking the Sixth Census or Enumeration of the inhabitants of the United States and for other purposes, and took, and in my presence subscribed the above oath.
