Woohoo! My best friend from undergrad, Soo, finally came to visit. She came up with her fiance, Joe. They almost got scammed by some deal where you listen to some time-share salespitch and they `give` you a room for $150. Catch is, if they don`t think you`re a potential buyer, they put you on the crappy side of the hotel (the unrenovated side). No such thing as a free lunch in NYC. People here are after 2 things: your money, or your genitals. Sometimes they`re one and the same. Speaking of genitals, it is COLD in NYC this weekend. Kyle and I don`t turn on the heat because a heating bill means you don`t get to eat. The frozen chicken I took out this morning, 9 hours ago, is STILL frozen. Gaaawd...I`m going to go workout in our gym (it`s heated in there).

Okay, survived V-Day. Phew...dammit, dammit - I forgot to set the Tivo to Survivor and ended up missing 3/4 of it. Dammit, that Tribal Council sucked balls. What a cheap way to lose. Ogakor is going down hard. All of Colby`s muscles can`t put them back together again. Oh well, James and Jen came over to have dinner with us. Great dinner, courtesy of my roommie. The new neighborhood organic grocery store opened, and yet another celebrity sighting. I went to check it out with Jen. When we were walking down an aisle, she goes "Wow, that woman looks like Ricki Lake." I turned and looked at her. "She IS Ricki Lake!!!" Ricki is either pregnant or putting on pounds again. Hahaha...as we were leaving, I said out loud, "I wonder why TV stars always look shorter in real life." Guess who was leaving right behind us as I say this? Hahah...my timing is impeccable.

Valentine`s Day: sighhhh...grr, my least favorite holiday. To top it off, I had a horrible day at work. Almost got into a very heated argument with the head of the geriatrics department. Was in a pissy mood all day long. So I decided to head to Chelsea Piers to blow off some steam afterwards. Glad I went. This REALLY cute Asian girl with a great body was working out there at the same time. Thing is, she looked really familiar. Don`t know if I know her from somewhere or maybe she has an AA page and I`ve seen it. Hmm...well, whoever you are - if you`re reading this, drop me a line. Was in a much better mood afterwards. Nothing a beautiful girl and 3 miles of burnt energy can`t cure. :)

Just got back from DC today.  Went to see my sis, Sue, who goes to Georgetown.  All I can say is, every town seems dead after you've been in NYC.  Hey, I loved DC when I went to school in Baltimore, but man.  Driving in DC is hell.  They've got about 15 different signs at each intersection:  can't turn at all between 6-8 am, can't make a right on red between 5-6 pm, left lane must turn left, one way, can't turn left between 8-9pm.  Who the hell can read all this stuff while you're driving?!!  No wonder I racked up several hundred dollars worth of tickets when I lived down there.  Bloody hell.

Wacky Stuff:  My sis tells me that those suction street cleaners in DC sucked up a pregnant woman last year and killed her.  You'd think it was the street cleaner's fault, but those things go 25 mph at top speed.  Hmm...this might be up for a Darwin Award.

Another Example of Governmental Stupidity Stuff:  I read a newspaper article on the train ride, on how it was a good idea to rebuild the voting equipment and getting rid of antiquated punchcards.  Um, you think?!!  It goes on to say that it will cost approximately 8-9 BILLION dollars!!!  WHAAAAAT?!!!  My ass, it would cost that much.  Setup computer terminals with Internet access and setup servers to take down voters' social security numbers and their vote.  My god, Amazon handles more traffic in a week than the whole voting population.

Wow, what a day...went to Chinatown with Kyle, Aileen, Yoko, Joyce, her from out-of-town brother Charles, and his friend, Tay.  Stuffed ourselves silly at Jin Fong.  Goooood food!   Then we were SUPPOSED to walk over to the red line 6 blocks over and head up to my apartment, but everyone kept stopping in stores.  3 girls and 2 guys from out of town...we stopped at every purse, fake watch, sunglass, jewelry, fruit, hat, scarf, cd, and bakery store along Canal Street.  Took us 1 1/2 hours - and that was just one block!  Kyle and I could only laugh.  Well, I picked up a pair of badass shades myself.  Get a load of me below.  The bad thing was that it started off being 57 degrees at lunchtime.  Towards the end of the walk, it had dropped down to 32 degrees.  I had only brought a suede jacket, a tee shirt, and jeans.  No long underwear.  I have pretty good cold tolerance, but GAWWWWDAMN I started to freeze!  Came back at 5 oclock and met up with Eugenia, and her friend Vicki, and Yoko's boyfriend, Chris and went to see Hannibal.  I was one of the few who thought it was a decent movie.  Not much of a plotline, but more an in depth character analysis of Hannibal himself.  BTW, does anyone know the opera song used in the movie?  If so, drop me a line and tell me.  Had sushi afterwards at the bestest biggest sushi place in Chelsea - MONSTER SUSHIAnyhoo...oh yeah, and I'm dogsitting this weekend.  Take a look at Einstein!!  He's one good looking dog.  He is a major babe magnet.  I get him till tomorrow.  Tomorrow we go to the dog park!

Ahahaha...I had the wrong year on ALL my journal entries and no one even noticed!  Well, yet another great night of Survivor mania!!!  Once again, figured Marilyn to get booted, but the show fooled me again.  Everything pointed to her and so naturally I got suspicious and changed my mind.  Kinda sorry to see her go though - she had a lot of spunk.  And who has a better nickname than MAD DOG?!!  Wow, *I* want that name!  Jerri, of course, up to no good once again.  You KNOW  she's just using Colby.  Gotta hand it to the girl though.  She knows how to work that wolfish grin and bikini to her advantage.  She's pretty safe with Colby and Mitchell.  Glad to see Colby wasn't totally blind yet.  Don't have a good pulse on Amber yet.  She's flying low on the radar.  I think she'll make the merger though.  Tina - better hope Ogakor wins that next immunity contest.  Strongest alliance I see so far is Old McRodger and Elizabeth.  Very much a grandfather/daughter relationship growing there.  Him giving her that heart shaped rock was either very sweet, or the old man is much more cunning than we're giving him credit for (or even more likely, it was a manipulative move on the part of CBS to throw us off...hmmm...sneaky bastards!).

Hey, BTW, I appreciate the notes people.  I'm glad you guys are enjoying the journal.  I'll try to keep up with it for a bit.  Kind of cathartic and fun to get my thoughts of the day out on paper.  Heh, you'll notice on Thursdays that most of my thoughts will consist of Survivor.  Haha, what can I say?  I love to watch petty people and make fun of them.  Anyhow, I will TRY to get a note back to everyone this weekend.  Sorry, but I've been pooped out from work.  Thanks for popping in though...

Stupid hacker.  Wrote over my guestbook intro.  <sigh> Why are there actually people who feel good about themselves by being annoying to other people?  Had my last interview today and thought of something...Observation Du Jour -- guys, don't you hate when you at the toilet and there's piss on the seat???  You can't even ignore it by lifting the seat because you're paranoid that the next person is going to be the hot brunette secretary (excuse me, I was reminded today that they are, in fact, "administrative assistants"; sheesh, i HATE PC) who's going to think that you're a dirty filthy disgusting pig (ladies, don't even go there...).  Yeah, I know I'm going to have to deal with pee in my career, but that doesn't mean I should have to deal outside the ER, esp. with people who are perfectly continent.  Pisses me off...

Weekend Summary:

Is it me or is FrontPage2000 buggy as sh*t?  Chrissakes, it took me 5 mintues to set the font, color, and size.  Bah, weekend was somewhat chill.  Saw some old friends at the NoMoore club in Tribeca.  I then remembered why I hardly go to clubs anymore.  Music was mediocre, and I paid 10 dollars to stand there and yell into my friends' ears to find out what they've been up to, and to smell like smoke afterwards.  Haha, James is looking like Slim Shady.

Saw a movie with my roommate Kyle, and Brittany, his fiancé yesterday.  Excellent flick called, You Can Count on Me.   Unfortunately we had to sit in the front row.  Anyhow, REALLY good movie that you should rent on DVD when it comes out.  It's one of those films you never hear about but are pleasantly surprised when you watch it.  Not a comedy, but I laughed harder in this movie than I have any other supposed comedic films in the past year.

Went to lunch today with Peter and Diana.  Peter's an old buddy of mine who grew up with me in Saudi Arabia.  Went to Hopkins with me, and now he's in New York with me.  And next year, he's gonna move over to the West Side where I am.  Yeaaah boy, you know the West Side is too cooler than the East!  Diana's his GF.  Met her for the first time today.  Cool girl!  Definitely different than him, but I think will be good for him.  Kudos Pete!  Afterwards, got some more baked goods (damn those bakeries; if only they weren't so cheap!), and we went up to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.  Too bad I forgot the digicam.  Some of them looked kinda fake, but some of them were just downright freaky.  But the best part of the museum was the gift shop.  Hahahahaha...we spent half an hour there trying on funky hats and wigs.  Pete nearly busted a gut when he saw me in a silver cap with black hair extensions.  Punk.  Damn, I really gotta remember my cam next time...

Do you like to laugh? Then sit your @ss down at 7:00 PM on Sunday nights and turn to Fox. Yes, that`s right, the funniest half hour on TV is on Futurama. I have this weird thing where I start hiccuping when I laugh too hard and can`t get enough air. Well, I had the hiccups all the way to the Simpsons. OMG, tonights episode was hilarious! DEATH BY SNOO SNOO!!!

2.1.01

2nd to last interview today.  I'm getting kind of tired of them.  After my interview, I went and got a haircut.  I'm BALD now.  Well, okay, not quite bald, but close.    Went to Chinatown and got some baked goods.  Dang, I love those Chinese bakeries.  Hate that they're so counterproductive to my workouts though.  So tonight, my big dilemma is this: Friends or Survivor?  Life is good when this is your biggest decision of the week.  All my problems should be this big.

Update: Okay, watched Survivor. Actually, Tivo`ed Survivor, and watched Friends. (It`s 4th year, I got lots of time, so get off my back, okay? :P) Haha, I actually predicted the loser after the last episode. However, I must say, it was quite unexpected since the show started to change my mind (yeah, like they didn`t do some MAJOR editing). All I can say, Kimmi, you motor-mouth crybaby, you`re one lucky biatch that Tina barfed up what I eat every week in Chinatown. They should`ve voted Debb off again...
