Programs
To use these programs, simply unzip the files and run the .exe; they need no
installation. All the programs were developed with Borland Delphi 2.01
HP Calculator v. 2.2
- a scientific RPN HP-like Calculator with the
stack, 10 registers, four-rows display and interface functions such as copy/paste. You can use
numeric keyboard too, as well as standard shortcut; an utilities menu will appear when you
right-click on the window.
There is also the 2.1 version, with an LCD-like
display.
Known bug: under WinNT all buttons are white (I
don't know why).
Mandelbrot v. 1.1 - A Mandelbrot fractal generator with real-time Julia-set drawing. This release is very simple; zooming in & out is supported by mouse: left-click on any point in the Mandelbrot set will redraw it magnified by a user-defined zoom factor, right-click will reduce it.
URLReader v. 2.0 - A simple program to convert Favorites IE shortcut into one HTML page. Original code by Ulf Grasse, I added some enanchements.
LiveEarth Wallpaper v. 1.1 - A desktop wallpaper software which show a real-time image of the Earth.
Borland Delphi
components (discontinued)
you can find them at Delphi Super Page
too.
TXYSystem v. 1.3 - TXYSystem provides a plot surface with floating-point coordinate system, aspect ratio management and many other graph & math functions. Demo included.
TMPEG3Player v. 1.2
beta -
TMPEG3Player component drives WinAmp to play .mpX files; position property support
included as TMediaPlayer; uses an old interface unit by B. Emslie (included).
It didn't work very well with WinAmp 2.5 :( but I don't have
the time to solve the problem.
Handhelds
For the novice surfer, EPOC is the Symbian's OS for Psion and compatibles PDAs. Currently, EPOC Release 5 (ER5) supports - among other things - Internet connection and a Java 1.1 VM, so it is able to run applets in the Web embedded application and even standalone Java applications.
Among some "experiments" made on this (awfully discontinued) platform, I managed how to start a VNC viewer in a Psion machine.
Linux is a great O.S. for handheld computers such the iPaq. The main source is www.handhelds.org where you can find the Familiar Linux distro. In the future I'll put some linux related stuff here...
