Welcome to my personal web
page. I am Sébastien Tardif, teacher at Lasalle Catholic High School.
I was born in the small village of Ste-Flore which is now part of the city
of Grand-Mère near Shawinigan. I have lived my childhood hiking
and canoeing the numerous lakes of the area. I still have some values that
come from that stay in the country.
When I was teenager, I lived
in Shawinigan-sud. I attented the Ste-Marie Seminary for four years. I
was involved a lot in student life. During my
spare time I played volleyball, baseball and badminton. I also enjoyed
downhill skiing and camping. I also have to admit that my social life was
very active!
I did my grade 11 at Polyvalente
Jean-Baptiste Meilleur in Repentigny. I keep wonderful memories about it.
Nevertheless, my first contacts with the metropolis haven`t been always
smooth. Life was in fact a lot different from the life in my village! Anyway,
I have learn to appreciate the urban life. Montreal offers so many opportunities
as specialized restaurants, big stores, museums, shows, cultural events,
night life etc.
I did my college degree
at Maisonneuve college in social sciences. I was passionated by history,
communications, economics and particurlarly in politics. This this
why I did a certificate at the Université de Montréal
in arts and sciences, options politics and communications ( who controls
media has a lot of political power...)
Then I went to Vancouver for
a couple of months to improve my english ( there is still a lot to do but...).
What a nice city! It was a wonderful experience. When I came back, Iwas
in charge of a boarding school for two years. This is how I realised that
I enjoy working with teens and that I have an ease to do it. So I
decided to do an education degree.
I went back to school
and took up the history teaching programm at the Université du Québec
à Montréal. For the first time in my life I knew why I was
studying and I had a precise goal. Motivation was there and I succeed well.
I am actually studying teaching french as second language and
computer sciences at Mc Gill University
I have been teaching at Lasalle
Catholic Comprehensive High School for 4 years now and I still do
not regret my choice. I still like my work and I still like teens. In fact,
I `m having a ball!
I have various interests.
I like to learn, culture, nature and adventure. I still play volleyball
once in a while. I enjoy canoeing and camping. I like fishing and hiking.
I like various kind of music depending how I feel: soft rock, jazz, classical
and opera. My favorite plate is sushi.
