You would be interested in knowing that the Library at NBSC...
It has been observed over a period of time that the following subject categories of books are in demand.
The Library has its own plans...
National Bank Training Centre (NBTC)
We all know that the NBTC was set up in January 1993, to conduct various training programmes for our Group B & C staff, to equip them to deliver their best. The Centre was initially established under the administrative control of NABARD, RO- Lucknow and consequent upon the decision taken by HO, the administrative control of NBTC was vested with NBSC, Lucknow since 01 April 1998.
What we probably don't know is that
SNIPPETS
In case you are travelling to NBTC, Cheer up...
Extensive renovation of the premises have been taken up and the task completed satisfactorily. A Generator Set has been installed and is likely to be commissioned soon.
New PCs have been acquired for NBTC, replacing the old ones and new fire fighting equipment have been installed in the campus.
Computer Based What (???)
Computer Based Training. In keeping with global trends, NBSC has developed on an experimental basis, a distance education package, incorporating 'Basic Accounting' which may be required in the context of NABARD's working. The package is being put on to CD- ROMs and is being passed on to the Regional Offices and some Head Office Departments. Comments and ideas on this package are welcome.
It's Friday evening in Lucknow and what does one do ?
Well, there are so many things one could do. But if you are a person in the know, the most probable thing you would do is to head for NBSC. Starting July 2000, virtually every Friday of the year, NBSC has played host to a Study Circle, where anyone from NABARD is welcome to hold forth on any topic, which he/ she thinks anyone would be interested in. The topics of discussions have ranged from World Trade Organisation to NABARD Policy for Rural Development. Records show that the 33 sittings have been held during the year 2000- 01, beginning July 2000.
Commencing 24 November 2000, a gist of the presentation, together with a brief write up of the discussions have been circulated to all Offices of NABARD in the form of an e-magazine. You will be able to access the old issues of the magazine at www.geocities/nbcollege.org. You could also send a request to NBSC at nbsc@sancharnet.com, in case you would like your e-mail ID to be included in the mailing list of the e-magazine.
Faculty Meetings have become a very regular affair in the college. Programme design and session plans are rigorously discussed at the meetings before a programme is offered. The presentation is made by the concerned programme coordinator. Similarly, after the programme, another presentation is made by the coordinator with the focus on the feedback received. This helps in suitable modifications in programmes.
Computer Lab
The college has a computer lab for participants, equipped with 19 P.C.s. The lab is used for various programmes which have computer based inputs. The participants have complete access to the lab and one can see many a participant sitting late into the night, either working on their assignments or trying to learn the ropes of the various application software available.
Our Plans for 2001- 02
Apart from continuing with our training programmes during 2001- 02, we would also expect to get increasingly involved in the ODI process, specifically the II & III phases of ODI.
Goal Oriented Project Planning (GOPP) exercises are being taken up in DRIP Districts and NBSC should be completing 6 such exercises during the year.
Studies on various topics by the Faculty Members is another area which will be focussed on during the year. NBSC also proposes to conduct Faculty Development Programmes in 5 modules for the new Faculty Members of the various training establishments, viz., BIRD, RTCs and NBSC.
