Energy Reform Now!

Patently Obvious: Paying Double In light of the current Global Climate Crisis, I would be remiss and derilict if I did not point out that a enormous waste of resources is being carried out at the expense of the people, solely for the enlargement of corporate profits. Fuel, regardless of the form that it takes, is produced by some kind of thermal process. The fuel is then distributed, and used to perform some other thermal process. For example, gasoline is produced through refining (a thermal process) and then distributed and later burned in engines (another thermal process) in order to convert the potential energy contained in the gasoline into the kinetic energy of a rotational shaft, for whatever reason. The thermal energy which is used to refine or distill crude oil or other sources of alkanes (hydrocarbons) such as corn, grain, or potatos into gasoline, ethanol, natural gas, or propane no matter how efficiently used in an industrial plant, is ultimately lost to the end consumer. At the same time, the same consumer, is buying additional fuel of other types to convert into thermal energy to heat their home, or business. Litteraly, paying twice the cost for fuel in order to keep the production, distribution, price of fuel firmly in the hands of corporations. The obvious solution to this inefficiency is to use the same thermal energy that we heat our homes with to perform the processes to produce fuel for our machines and equipment.
