In 1972 a few weeks after graduating from high school, Carl came to Seattle to start school at ITT Peterson School of Business. Little did he know that he was soon to meet someone that would become very important to him. He was staying with a family friend and going home on weekends and holidays. He was lonely not really knowing anyone in Seattle, but this was soon to change.

Sondra didn't start going to ITT tell the end of summer, as she went to visit her Grandparents that lived in Elwood, Indiana. One night as Sondra was sleeping she had a dream, she was in classroom, as she looked towards the door she seen a young man, he wore a green shirt with slacks, all she seen was the back of his head. When she woke the next morning she remember the dream but put it out of her mind.

The first day of school, Sondra sat in a classroom, she sat talking but thinking to herself, I have been here before. She then looked up towards the door and she seen a young man in a green shirt and slacks. She told one of the girls that she was talking to that is the guy I am going to marry. The girl asked how long have you known each other? And Sondra said, "I haven't meant him yet."
