About Me

My full name is Scott Alan Emick.  I was born on March 25, 1970 in Cleveland, Ohio.   My parents Margaret & David Emick adopted me when I was only a few weeks old.  My father moved us to Canfield, Ohio a year later to pursue a career at General Motors, where he is still working today. Canfield is a small town of about 10,000 people and I grew up on the outskirts of town, near the country. I've lived in San Diego, Long Beach, Portsmouth Virginia, Cleveland, Ohio, and my current home of record is Canfield Ohio again.

I enjoy meeting people of different races, nationalities, religions, and ideas.  I believe a lot can be learned by having an open mind and simply being open to hearing what people have to say.   I enjoy traveling to far away places and experiencing different cultures, foods, customs, and scenery.  I love nature, music, dance, animals, and the stars in the sky.

Some occupations I've held include landscaping, pizza maker, salesperson, petition gatherer, telemarketer, janitor, onion peeler, nurse, medic, paramedic, corpsman, computer programmer, network engineer, orderly, restaurant manager, and counselor.  Some of my strengths are being able to rapidly learn new skills and adapt to new environments quickly, gain the trust and empathy of others, work with others on a team, and desire for knowledge that consumes me.  Some things I am working on improving are finishing things which I've started, putting my life-long goals into actualization, becoming truly charitable and humble, and learning to avoid past mistakes.

Actities I am fond of include:  exploring new trails in the woods and mountains, swimming in the salty ocean, basking in the glowing warmth of the afternoon sun, dancing to any music that lifts my soul, traveling down a desolate highway, helping another human being out, riding a spirited horse through the autumn forest, watching the dollar movies at the Cinemark 8 in Boardman
