So, last week was interesting. Almost a lull in mid-terms, except for my Intro to Film class. Apparently lots of people did worse on this exam than on the first one (24 of 27), but I haven't checked my score yet, because the only times I'm on that side of campus and thinking academic things, I have a class to go to right after. Or breakfast to go to, so that I'll be late for my Geol lecture. *shrug* I guess I will have to make a time to inspect the answer sheet.
My Geology professor is from Canada. Apparently teachers are sadists in Canada, because they have this system where an eighty is an A, and a seventy is a B, etc. So, I should get a B or B-... I think... except that there is apparently a curve involved as well. I have pretty much given up trying to figure it out, I will just try to do better on the next one.
I have been distracted by Bookworm on Popcap games. But, I _will_ update!
Midterm this week in Sign class. Vocab should be easy, but the us signing bit will be more difficult, because she's going to want lots of expression and stuff out of us. grr... Gas station attendant is looking better and better. The class is not difficult, thank goodness. I'm so glad I got my language requirement out of the way in high school, because I don't think I could manage college level Latin classes.
Went to see Ben Folds with Val on Saturday. It was great! He did this audience thing where we (by we, I mean everyone _else_, cause I cannot sing.) were supposed to sing this two part harmony for a couple of the songs. And then he had us do saxaphones and trumpets for Army. It was pretty funny. Some of the best singing I have ever heard from an audience. Either Uconn just sings well, or several of the a capella groups that Storrs seems to be plagued with decided to show up together.
My sister was confirmed on Sunday. She is too darn old. And too darn tall. Not to mention too darn sassy. It's frightening, in all the baaaaad ways. At least she is interested in something sensible (Math and programming). *grin*
Brain count as of 6:34: 28. Eric is beating me, though. (I think he is cheating) :). There's nothing to be afraid of I used to know how to change the mouseover text for links, so that it would display something else down in the little IE status bar. Alas, no more. I think it was Java, too, so it would have prolly been a pain in the neck to just throw in on the fly. Many thanks to Kevan for the hours of entertainment provided this afternoon. John got me a good one just a couple minutes ago. Go Tibbs!
Apparently some sort of tour is coming to the computer center here at Uconn. A class of students from the Uconn Hartford branch or something. I really have no idea what this is all about, but I'm getting paid for an hour to say "This is the ITS Helpdesk, we help people with computer problems." *shrug* ow, my arm. No, putting the money in my hand is twisting my arm. Please, stop.
That is all.
