Westerns amuse me... gunfire and dust, horses and ricochets. In all the confusion, I don't really remember. Do you feel lucky?
In case you couldn't tell, I've decided to do something stream of consciousness, free association, and whatever's on my mind.
Just saw Akira for the first time. It was neat. Read Fight Club, also neat, although in a different way.
Going to see Everclear with Tyr and hopefully some friends from work this weekend, if Bryan's National Guard unit doesn't get activated between now and then.
Beat Max Payne. Neat game, bullet-time is fun. The next difficulty levels are buggeredly (technical term). On one the guys have lots more health and are a pain to kill. You have to really conserve ammo and bullet-time. The other difficulty is "New York Minute". You have a minute to finish the level. You get more time by killing bad guys. It requires a certain amount of caffeine/adrenaline.
Everclear was great. They started off with So Much for the Afterglow, a very excellent song. They played a bunch of older songs (off of Sparkle And Fade) and then they played some of their more recent songs (Wonderful, AM Radio, Father of Mine). And they played Santa Monica, which was fantastic. They had some great solos in there, it was a lot of fun. The one problem I had tonight was the fact that most of the vocals were completely indistiguishable from the guitars... I like guitars, but I also like lyrics. The opening band was Missing Joe. I bought their CD and look forward to hearing the words to their songs as well.
I got to see lots n' lots of crowd surfing... it was amusing, cause the first couple times I saw some people try, they just fell after moving a couple feet. The guy would come running back to his friends going, "No, I'm okay, I'm fine, really!" The other thing that I found funny was the blatant groping that happened to the girls who crowd surfed (both of them).
My last point of the night is that moshers are some of the most obnoxious cretins on the face of the planet. It just baffles me. Anyway, peace out, g'night!
