So, Norcumi was complaining that I said I would try to update weekly, and its been about two weeks since my last update. Well, let me tell you why. :)
On tuesday afternoon, my computer crapped out on me. I turned it on and the monitor recieved no signal whatsoever. I wiggled the plug, took it out, stuck it back in. Still nothin... So, I opened the case and took a look. There are four little lights in there that are supposed to go from red to green as the computer boots up. My lights, however, stayed red. I left it on for about a minute, just to make sure. Ze computer is not happy. So I got out the manual. The manual says that when all four lights stay red, it is baaaaaaaaad. Thats a technical term.
Quietus told me to try replacing the battery, seeing as how that is one of the most inexpensive parts. So, mom said she would pick one up from radio shack. She came back with a lithium battery... that would fit wonderfully right into a camera... however, it was not designed to interface with my computer, in any way, shape, or form. Right about there I turned the computer on, because I am an eternal optimist. And it worked. All the lights went from red to green and stuff showed up on the screen and everything. My computer works now. I don't know why. I don't know what changed. But it works now. Yay!
So, the other thing I did this past week, was I went to knife-training. Hang on, let me explain. *grin* A couple weeks ago, I got a letter in the mail. It talked about a great part time job for over the summer, even if you already had a job and were taking summer classes... and the starting pay is 18.25 an hour. So I called the company up (eventually) and signed up for an interview thingy. Turns out that the company is hiring and training sales reps to make their own appointments to go to people's houses and give presentations ("sales-pitches") to them. So I thought I would try it out. I went to a couple days of training. It was interesting. There were some cool people there, but it just didn't feel right. *shrug* So I decided not to do it, cause I like working at the help desk and the manager-guy was kinda pushy and I want some free time, you know? There you have it.
Now I'm at work. At the helpdesk. yay! And I talked to Val (I miss you, val!) And I'm gonna be kinda busy this week, cause we have to get ready for my brother's graduation party. Phooey. And Norcumi is leaving on wednesday to go to LA for the scary-people-obsession-thing (The Gathering). *grin*
And look! They Might Be Giants! And they're doing a show in Rhode Island next week! That is so awesome! Who wants to come with me? And here I thought I wouldn't be able to get my brother a graduation present.
Well, Val made my day by pointing that out. *grin* This is a decent update, especially compared to some of the ones I have done in the past. I feel it makes up for the two week delay. *nods emphatically*
