Greetings! My name is Jason Rector, District Technician for Adair Co Schools. I would like to welcome you to my newly designed website.

The new millennium brings a Wide Area Network (WAN) which connects all schools together both on/off campus including the three county schools. This has permitted each school to communicate among the central office and one another.

Internet and E-mail also is provided across this Wide Area Network, which will enable both teachers, staff, and students immediate access to research "around the world".

Words of Wisdom for Educators Just Starting Out With Technology

Be patient.
Take it slowly.
Play, play, play -- get hands-on practice daily.
Let the kids teach you.
Don't be afraid -- you can't break the computer unless you pick it up and drop it on the floor.
Don't reinvent the wheel -- get advice from those who know. Attend all the training sessions you can.
Begin by integrating the computer into a unit you love.
Get involved in a collaborative project.
Always have a contingency plan -- a 10-minute thunderstorm did in on a Back-to-School Technology Night.
Dive in; use it; do it; run with it; jump right in; learn from you mistakes.
Form a technology support group.
Be sure all students are engaged with the technology, not just some.
Don't get too comfortable with what you know -- it will all change.
Keep in mind that technology is only a tool.
