Description
|
Sailing ship, 3 masts
There were two ORIENT's making voyages to Port Adelaide during the 1880's
creating some confusion as to which is which.
- ORIENT built 1853 is pictured by Maritime Museum of South Australia as
a sailing ship having 3 masts. The museum indicates it was this ship
that came out in 1883 and is pictured at top right.
- ORIENT built 1879 is pictured by Maritime Museum of South Australia as
having 1 funnel and 2 masts. My information and pictures show this ship
as having 2 funnels and 4 masts.
