WORK EXPERIENCE

Systems Mgr, Network Operations Division ARINC Incorporated, Annapolis, MD

04/1999 - Present

Monitor an international network of Cisco routers linked to RF & HF radios used to provide air-to-ground datalinks for commercial airlines and government agencies. Monitoring network status is accomplished using HP Openview and diagnostics such as data analyzers.

Coordinate with telco providers, field maintenance and customers on failures within the network.

 

International Services Data Technician

MCI International, Washington, D.C.

1998 - 1999

Conducted monitoring, fault isolation and coordination of service restoral for global data communications services.

Coordinated corrective actions with domestic and international telco providers, provided customers with status of repairs & service.

Installed newly provisioned circuits.

 

Systems Engineer / Manager, NASCOM Tech Control Allied Signal Technical Services, Goddard Spaceflight Center, Greenbelt, MD

1994 -1998

Supervised bargaining unit and exempt employees in a 24x7 operations center.

Provided regular briefings to the NASA customers on issues such as circuit performance evaluations and service outages.

Prepared and delivered techincal presentations for briefings at major conferences, such Pre-Flight and Post-Mission reviews of Space Shuttle missions.

Coordinated service requirements to support orbiting scientific spacecraft and mission simulations.

Established integration plans for system upgrades, including training requirements.

Also took an assignment handling installation, testing, and training on tactical security systems for the USAF at locations in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Conducted realtime monitoring, fault isolation and service restoration on failures within the global NASA communications network.

Served as the primary point of contact for satellite Payload Operations Centers and the NASA Network Control Center to establish services for support of scheduled satellite passes and mission simulations.

Performed acceptance testing and quality control testing of data services with domestic and international telco providers.

Managed the primary node of NASA's TDMA network.

Mosler Safe Co., Pennsauken, NJ and Overland Park, KS 1980 - 1984 Performed installation and maintenance of electronic security systems, photo/video surveillance systems and electro-mechanical delivery systems, primarily for financial institutions. Operated from home rather an office with no direct supervison, covering large service areas.

 

MILITARY SERVICE

Air Terminal Operations Specialist, U.S. Air Force Reserves 69th Aerial Port Squadron, Andrews AFB, MD

1986 - 2005

Managed ramp cargo and passenger operations from the Air Terminal Operations Center.

Certified as USAF aircraft load planner, HAZMAT handler and AFRES Trainer / Certifier.

Functioned as the Unit Training Technician / Manager for 13 years, as an additional duty position.

Retired from service as a Master Sergeant.

 

Telecommunications Control Specialist, U.S. Air Force

1974 - 1979

Conducted fault isolation / restoration of voice and data communications services. Data services included troubleshooting of encrypted services on the Red & Black sides of the crypto equipment.

Assignments included the AUTOVON Switching Center at Feldberg, Germany and the AUTODIN Switching Center at Andrews AFB, MD

1
