Responsible for tracking and creating implementation processes that are used to provide Frame Relay and ATM data circuit installations. Processes include order preparation, client site surveys, circuit tracking from initial order submission to completion. Duties also include the use of various operating systems and software applications (i.e., FMS, CIS, MOM, ES, TRS, SOTS, Excel), all of which are used to monitor, track, and implement the various types of circuits.

This included recommendation on hardware and software for home and office use, building and testing computer systems, repair of computers and associated hardware, loading of customer selected software, and fileserver support.

Provided technical supervision and support for 10 Network Engineers. Engineering activities included installation, maintenance, and management of an Ethernet 802.3/802.2 frame-relay LAN. The LAN consisted of Cisco Routers, HP Switches, Novell 4.10/4.11 File Servers, NT/Exchange, and NT/SQL Servers, and an Ethernet WAN comprised of Novell and NT Servers. Responsibilities also included interfacing with ISPs and phone companies to acquire necessary LAN/WAN POPs and POTs, respectively. Oversaw the installation of ISDN lines for connection to European and Asian sites. Communicated with the client both orally and in writing to provide implementation and installation schedules for new sites. Solely installed, tested, and wrote procedures for using a Shiva LAN Rover modem pool. Reported both orally and in writing to IT Manager providing daily systems status of all sites. Was responsible for assembling the first Operations Manual encompassing policies and procedures for each of the 12 sites. Traveled to remote sites to meet with the client and to conduct inventory of all hardware and software on site, and assisted in the installation of new networks. Ordered necessary equipment to maintain integrity of networks and local PCs. Conducted weekly meetings with staff to coordinate assignments and discuss issues. Maintained a 24-hour on-call status.

Oct., 1997 Information Systems Engineer-Patent and Trademark Office Contract

Provided technical support and maintenance for the APS/PTO (Automated Patent System/Patent and Trademark Office) Project LAN. Support included the installation and maintenance of site-specific mini-computers and required software. Responsibilities also included hardware assembly, operating system installation and maintenance, to include Windows 3.1, Win95, Win/NT, and Macintosh systems. Twenty-four hour on-call maintenance of three Novell Servers and a MS Mail Server supporting over 200 users. Installed, implemented, and documented backup procedures for all network servers. Set up user PCs and servers to utilize TCP/IP protocol. Provided troubleshooting and problem analysis on all hardware, and performed on-site repairs as needed. Developed and wrote user aids and conducted mini-seminars to introduce users to new hardware and software additions/modifications.
