My Philosophy of Education
Learning is a double-edge sword. Much learning takes place at home, in nature, and in other environments
that cannot be duplicated in the classroom. However, education requires a concentrated effort by teachers and administrators
to provide the best setting to learn while in the classroom. Under the guidance of a careful, selective teacher, the process
of education can occur.
I believe children, being naturally shy, curious, experienced, emotional, or outspoken, provide challenges
for the teacher to individualize instruction. Education should satisfy the needs of the individual while providing options
to broaden the students' horizons for total life skills using techniques such as group work, guided discovery and open discussion.
The education of youth is too important to compromise quality. Teaching is a job that requires attention
to events in and out of the classroom. I believe, as a teacher, I must be dedicated to quality education for all students.
