Jar Jar Binks
This has nothing to do with computers, but I had to say my
fair share about it. I am so sick about the Jar Jar Binks
controversy. It's a movie!!! Stop trying to put your own
racial or predudicial views in a movie just because you
have a problem with the character. Now, you may say that
I have no room to talk because I have never seen The
Phantom Menace, but day after day about hearing it on
the news just sickens me.
Now, I will have to agree with Lucasfilm on the fact stated
in their press release concerning this issue, "...this movie
was set in a galaxy far, far away..." We have to have
some type of controversy in our society or society would be
non-existant. Instead of society we would have a bunch of
zombies walking around doing the same thing everyone else is
doing. Where is the "society" in that.
And some guy at, I think it was Columbia University, said that
he was based on some 1930's character who represented exactly
what black people were made up to be, but in fact, are not.
In my opinion, this guy just wants his fifteen minutes of fame,
and this is the only way he can get them. Just sit back down,
stick your nose in a book, and think about how we say the word
"eat". I bet you could even convince some rich guy to invest
$15,000,000 dollars into a project that studies on how we say
the word "eat". You go right ahead, that's your perogative,
but saying that a movie character from a galaxy far, far away
represents the black race makes you look like AN IDIOT!!!
Sincerely,
Joe Cosentino
