ShellLink OCX Control

This OCX Control enables you to add a shortcut to a local file or Web-site to your dialogs in an easy way.
It is fully configurable (font, color,...) and is best for adding your homepage to your program's about page.
This version also supports link hiliting. (The link can change color when the mouse is over it)

Note: It is not intended to create .lnk files. If you want to know how to do it, read this.

Usage

  1. you first have to register the control to your system.
    this can be done with 'RegSvr32 ShellLink.ocx'. RegSvr32.exe is located in your system directory.

  2. Add the control to a dialog box.
    In Visual C++ you first have to do add the control to your project using the Component Gallery.

  3. Now you can change the properties of the newly created link.
    Caption will be the text displayed in your dialog. You can also choose a font and color.
    The link you specify can be a program name or document on your local system or an internet link (add http://, etc...)
