what is cyberrealm bbs?
cyberrealm bbs was officially started on feb. 23rd, 1996 in houston, tx. although it has been around since around dec. 1995 or so. it's ran by rebel cool. originally it started off as a t.a.g. board, but after problems with that i shut it down. then i messed around with gap systems, and it still wasnt quite right. then one day i was on another bbs which had a nifty looking software, and i could download it. it was interbbs system. so i spent a good part of a month configuring and setting it up till it was just right.
cyberrealm bbs was a part-time bbs at this time, up pretty much only in the early mornings to evenings. then in June '96 I upgraded an old computer, and transferred everything to it, installed a ups backup on it, and opened cyberrealm bbs as a 24 hour bbs. by this time there were approx. 200 users. summer of '96 changed alot too. adding nearly another 200 users and a few thousand hits, cyberrealm became the fastest growing singleline bbs in houston.
the next major change of cyberrealm took place in october. i decided it was time for a new bit of software, so i switched to spitfire. spitfire had alot more customizable things, utilities and lots of support around for it. the biggest pain was transfering about 300 accounts to it. today, i've had over 18,000 calls, and over 1000 users. and it grows everyday.
