How to PING

Why learn to ping?
  • This will help us figure out if the connection is really connected.
  • Will let us know what the problem maybe as well.

How to ping?

  1. Click on Start, Run, then type Command, Press OK.
  2. in the DOS prompt, type ping
  3. To test if your Winsock.dll file is ok, type this: ping 127.0.0.1, then press Enter.
  4. Check if you are online try this: ping www.yahoo.com, if you can't do that (says bad IP Address) try doing this : ping 204.71.200.68 if you get a response, it means that you need to check out what DNS#s you are using, or the server is having a problem, try a different access number.
