Admission Process      

Advertisements are placed in the leading Newspapers of the country, usually a week before the start of admission process. Admission forms are available at the IBA city campus and other designated locations during the dates specified in the advertisement. According to IBA policy Admission form and prospectus are not mailed.

The candidates are required to bring two passport sized recent photographs to obtain the admission forms. Usually a weeks time is given to submit the completed form. At the time of submission of the form candidates are given the Admit Card. The time, date and venue of aptitude test is mentioned on this Admit Card along with the form number. The candidates are required to bring this card at the time of test.

All IBA students are now admitted only in the Fall Semester that starts from August. Admissions and testing process typically starts around the second week of June with advertisements coming out in mid June. Precise dates of the start of the process may vary from year to year but are advertised well in advance in leading newspapers of the country.

Written aptitude tests are administrated on Sundays. Results are announced within a couple of days and students are called for interviews according to the schedule that is distributed when the test results are announced. Usually the interviews are conducted within one week of the results announcement.

At the time of appearing for their interview, applicants for admissions to MBA Programs must have completed their graduation (or equivalent). Applicants whose final results have not been announced at the time of interview (if otherwise eligible) should not have any deficiency in their previous exam results.

Applicants for admissions to BBA programs must have completed Intermediate (or equivalent High School Certificate) at the time of interview. Applicants whose final results have not been announced at the time of interview (if otherwise eligible) should not have any deficiency in their previous intermediate exam results. "A" level students must have their results at the time of interview.

Candidates are required to present the following documents in original at the time of interview:

  • Secondary School Certificate (or equivalent) plus mark-sheet
  • Intermediate or Higher Secondary School Certificate (or equivalent ) plus mark-sheet
  • Combined mark-sheets for graduation degree holders. If final results are awaited, then all the previous mark-sheets must be provided.
  • Equivalence Certificate from Karachi University in case of holders of degree/certificate issued by non-Pakistani Universities/Boards.

Rules specific to each program are specified in the advertisement or in the result sheets of the aptitude test.

Students who have been granted admission by IBA have to submit the following documents to complete their registration and enrollment process.

  1. Graduation Mark Sheet signed by the University Authorities.
  2. Intermediate Mark Sheet or equivalent for BBA Programs.
  3. Equivalence Certificate in case of applicant holding a foreign degree or certificate.
  4. Matriculation Certificate or equivalent.
  5. Migration Certificate if not a Karachi Board /University student.
  6. Character Certificate from the last institute attended.
  7. Six copies of recent passport size photograph.

Admission is finalized only after the student has submitted all the documents and has paid the fees within the announced deadlines.

Director IBA may refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reasons. Admissions to all students are provisional and it subjects to the final approval of the Institute.
