CDNow sells CDs at very competitive prices and the variety is endless. CDNow let's you ship your order anywhere in the world and the shipping and handling charges are very good no matter where your order is going to. Storewide sales and Wish List sales are a quite common price reducer too. In most of the cases, if you do not buy music at CDNow, you are probably paying too much.
BMG Music Service club gives you a great chance to buy your CDs at almost unbelievable prices. At the beginning, you can take advantage of the 12 for 1 offer. You select your first 7 CD titles and place the order (paying nothing!). After you receive your CDs and if you like them, you pay by check or credit card for only 1. If you don't, just return the package within 10 days and you owe nothing at all. Then, you can select your remaining 5 CD titles for free. To tell the truth, 12 for 1 is a little bit misleading as you have to pay shipping and handling for all CDs you buy at it is not exactly cheap. First single selection is $2.69, second single selection is $2.59, each additional single selection is $2.49. An extra charge is applied to multi-unit sets and non-audio merchandise. All together, you will get each CD for about $4! Not bad, right? But your savings do not end here at all. The longer you stay around and the more you buy, the bigger discounts you get in the future. I strongly suggest doing all the business with BMG over their web site, even though mail orders including paper coupons are available too.
It is a club, right, so you expect to be forced to regularly buy. Yes and no. Once every three weeks, BMG will send you a notice about your new Featured Selection based on your listening preferences. You will have about three weeks to accept it or decline it on their web site. If you decline, nothing happens. If you do not decline it within the given time period, BMG will send it to you. But you can simply return it and pay nothing again. It is fully your choice if you ever buy something again or not. I would find it strange if you do not as the savings are really significant.
New CD titles and selected CDs may not be always available at the discounted prices. On the other hand, box sets are usually sold at less than 50% of prices available elsewhere.
And surprisingly, you still can earn Music Points at this store too! That just makes your savings even bigger. And for every friend you refer to BMG, you get another four free CDs. Please, e-mail me at dnovak2@netscape.net if you are interested so that I can send you the referral e-mail and earn my free CDs :-)
Amazon.com sells practically everything these days but CDs were the first merchandise to follow books at this superstore. The shipping charges are almost the same as at CDNow: "$1.99 per shipment plus $0.99 per item." In fact, Amazon.com is 1¢ cheaper as the first item costs you only $2.98. Compared to CDNow, Amazon.com tends to be more pricey, though, and does not have any frequent buyer program. CD sales are scarse too.
