MILITARY SPOUSES
and Their Families
Hi, and welcome to the military portion of my web site. I have created this page as a place for other military spouses and their families (new and experienced) to come together and find information and support on life as a military family. It is difficult for military families to make friends due to all the travelling, and hard to keep in contact with people we have met over the years, I hope this site will provide a place to make new friends and to find old friends. A place to find the support needed to get through yet another deployment, the information needed on an upcoming duty station or just to sit with a cup of coffee and visit.
I have been a military dependent for the past 17 years. My husband is a SFC with the U.S.Army and a combat engineer. Together we have survived 7 military moves (1 overseas) and to many "deployments" to keep track of.  We have two boys, 12 and 9 otherwise refered to as military brats (but they NEVER live up to that name LOL).
The following paragraph is taken from the introduction of
"Campfollowers: A History of the Military Wife"
by Betty Sowers Alt and Bonnie Domrose Stone 1991
It does take a special kind of woman to be a military wife. She must be a patriot, and a help mate, lover, comforter, and a confidant to her husband. As one reads the early diaries or hears the stories of women who have experienced the roller coaster ups and downs of the military life, it becomes clear that the military wife must be courageous and resilient, and have a sence of humor. Her husband and his job will always come first: to be a good military wife, she must cheerfully yield satisfation of her own needs and desires to the needs of the military. It is niether an easy life nor one to which all wives can adapt, but those who do are part of a heritage rich in sacrifice, adventure and fulfillment.
