Hello -
This site, under construction, belongs to. . .
PJONES COMPANY
The "P" stands for "Peggy", which is a traditional English nickname for "Margaret", though nobody knows why.
We build . . .
- Stores
- Malls
- Cities
- Countries
- Worlds
- Universes
. . . all in Cyberspace, of course.
Getting back down to earth, I'm also good at more mundane tasks such as . . .
- Summarizing news into short, digestible, paragraphs.
- Aiming product presentations at the appropriate audience.
- Illustrating financial figures as readable charts and graphs.
- Explaining technical matters in readable laymen's terms.
- Presenting new ideas clearly.

-
National Corporate Services, Inc. (NCS)
- This is the website I established in 1993 to attract investors and induce them to consider investing in our client companies. It has gone through many metamorphoses, since.
-
The Investor's Shop
- A side business of NCS has always been to supply executive gifts (wholesale) to the financial community. With the advent of the Web, I established this retail "storefront". Thanks to an affiliation with Anderson's Investors Software, I later added a books and software department. Note: The changeable background color is done with a JavaScript. (This particular JavaScript works with Netscape but not with Explorer.) Looking at the page from several monitors, I find that no one machine or system sees all the colors effectively. At the moment, light colors work best with the light-antialiased images. Potentially, a customer may someday be able to try out a paperweight on a walnut, oak, or mahogany virtual desk.

HCM Capital Management, Inc.
- A long-term web client of NCS. I established this website about 4 years ago. Since then, NCS has ceased to handle this account; however the last time I looked the site had not changed much from my original design. Too bad you can't see the "private pages" where most of HCM's interesting newsletters are, and where the sophisticated financial charts are.
-
Example of Barcharts
- Here are a few examples of charts of the type I created for HCM. The objective was, of course, to create a lot of graphics while keeping file sizes small and the site fast. I have not yet found the same kinds of shortcuts for line charts; however some of the new Java-based utilities look like they hold promise.
-
Christmas Card
- This is an old "interactive" greeting card I created a few years ago using META tags. Since then, animated gifs have made this method of animation obsolete; however the same type of META tags are used to forward you onward automatically when a site moves to a new address.
-
"Beyond The Wall" Prototype
- After creating some serious site prototypes for NCS and its clients I just had to create a more lighthearted one for fun. This is also an exercise in filling the screen with fancy graphics, no matter what size the window, yet at the same time keeping the file sizes (and the download time) small. The second scene uses tables for layout; however, the first scene, with the wall uses frames for layout.
