If you think Rock & Roll is a one-way street for the musicians who play it, you've got a surprise coming. David Bryan, the talented keyboard player in the multi-platinum band BON JOVI, is also a compelling composer and instrumentalist whose musical vision takes him far beyond the loud, driving sounds of arena rock. For proof, turn on On A Full Moon..., Bryan's beautifully crafted debut solo album.
In contrast to Bryan's work with Bon Jovi, On A Full Moon... is a powerful collection of contemporary, piano-driven instrumentals that includes shades of classical, New Age, blues, jazz and rock, all of which are brought together by Bryan's soul-stirring performances on an acoustic grand piano. Two cuts "Kissed By An Angel" and " Lullaby For Two Moons" were written for his twins, Colton Moon and Gabrielle Luna. Also included in is an 'unplugged' version of the Bon Jovi hit "In These Arms," which Bryan co-wrote with bandmates Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora.
The album was produced by David Bryan and Larry Fast at the House of Music in West Orange, NJ. "Right from the start, David was open to anything," said Larry Fast. "What amazed me was how quickly the project came together. In my 20 years working in the recording studio, I've never seen so much good material take shape in such a short period of time."
"This is the record I've always wanted to make," added Bryan. "We wanted truly rich sounds, the kind that when you put the disk in your stereo, make you feel like I'm right there playing the piano for you. I think we've achieved what we were after."
ON A FULL MOON..., a Moon Junction Music release, is distributed by Ignition Distribution, in affiliation with Bryan Music Corporation.
