JLH Pixels
by Jeffrey L Hider

Interact with two dimensional particles by simply clicking the mouse button within the drawing area.  Various constraints modify the particle routes through time - which can be captured to an AVI file for faster playback.  The program was not originally intended to be a realtime particle simulation, but it doesn't get too bogged down.

So what does the "JLH" stand for?  My initials.  Why?  Why not?

This program does not provide the ability to edit the constraint definitions, but it does allow you to open the definition files, interact, and create AVI files of the interactions*.

Currently, the constraint definition editor is not publicly available.   In addition to providing an interface to modify the constraint definitions, it allows for renderings at resolutions other than just 320x240 and provides constraints for rendering particles with transparency level support (which were used to create the images shown on this page).  Eventually, I may clean up the editor and make it available, but that will depend mostly on whatever time I have available.

Elsewhere on my site, you'll see the "GeoApplet II" Java applet which actually has a common code base as this C++ implementation (minor syntax differences).

JLH Pixels runs under Windows 95/NT.  (Probably 98 as well, but haven't yet bothered testing that yet.)  Unzip the file and run setup.exe.
