"Did We Say 100% Compatable?"
The PS2 will be incompatable with a small number of original Japanese PSX games. Sony's US division has yet to release a list of US titles which will not work with the PSX2, but they may soon. |
Capcom Cuts Dhalsim's "Buddah Errection" Move
Street Fighter EX 3 is looking to be one of the hottest 3D fighting games ever! Why you ask? Can you say crystal clear 3D graphics? Fast-paced lightning-quick gameplay? How about awesome MvC-style tag-team moves? When you switch characters, the last guy will leap off into the foreground or the background, which is pretty sweet. In the newest demo version, there are six playable characters: Skullomania, Chun-Li, Ryu, Blanka, Sharon and Jack. But the select screen had room for 20 or more, so who knows. It's only flaw so far: no US release planned as of yet. E-mail Capcom! Beg! Hell, they'll probably release it here anyway.

Final Fantasia?
Ok bad joke. So what do you get when you take Tetsuya Nomura (of the Final Fantasy series) and stick him in a room with Disney Interactive and a PS2 development team? We should know by the end of 2001. |
Sony Makes Games?
It's called Extermination, and it seems pretty frikin' cool. They say if you liked Resedent Evil, you'll love this little PS2 gem coming at you from SCEI.

Screw Zelda
You wish. Anyway, Sony's own Dark Cloud looks to kick some adventure game ass and just might shove Link off his little high horse. But don't take my word for it.. wait, yeah take my word for it.

Capcom "Shows" It All!
Capcom cleaned up at the PlayStation Festival in Japan with their showcasing of Maximo, a 3D Ghosts And Goblins-like game, and a re-tooled PS2 version of the ninja game Onimusha, originally slated for the PSX. The images were among the more impressive at the festival. Also on Capcom's ticket, Game Arts announced three PlayStation2 titles: Chen Wen's Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Gungriffon Blaze, and Silpheed (remember the old Tandy version?) |
Perty Clouds
This just in: Ridge Racer 5 will contain no ridges.

But Where's Silent Scope?
Konami's getting on the PS2 bandwagon as well with Gradius III and IV (two seperate games.) Hey, maybe we'll actually be able to play III without the crappy trademark SuperNes slow-down. IV was an arcade game, so that should be pretty awesome for retro fans. Each will have new animated cut-scenes, adjustable difficulty levels, boss-battle modes and music selection modes. |
PlayStation2 Frightens Resedent Evil Team!
At the PlayStation festival, Okamoto talked a bit about the Resedent Evil game in development for the PS2. Mainly, he remarked about the trouble they were having. I wish I knew more about their problems... maybe it's a shortage of dead guys. If anyone has some rotting corpses lying around, go ahead and send them in to Capcom Japan. I'm sure that'll help. |
Tekken 3tb.. er, Tag!
Tekken Tag looked great at the Festival. It seems to be 100% accurate to the arcade, which could make it the "Soul Calibur" of the PS2.

EA Gets Board With PS2
Electronic Arts announced its first PlayStation2 title, SSX: Snowboard Super X. More than just traditional snowboarding, SSX will be based on the new sport of boardercross. Sounds like one to watch for. |
Isn't She The Blond Babe From Xena?
Kalisto Entertainment has confirmed that the PC/DreamCast game Nightmare Creatures 2 is now also in development for the PlayStation 2. Seems like these guys really like to cover every base.. NC1 was on just about every system but the Gameboy. Konami will be publishing the DC and PS2 versions in spring 2000. |
