The Tears That Fall
Those tears that rolled endlessly
Seemed they always would remain
Bitter thoughts of past time
Those that cause the pain
How could you never notice
The bitterness and the fear
That crept so deep inside my soul
causing each last bitter tear
Your brutal mind was restless
As you struck out in dismay
The knife got driven further still
As my life slowly withered away
I knew then that the tears would fall
You had it planned that way
My aching heart and wounded soul
And new tears fell each day
I was released from within my pain
The day you turned and walked away
Breathing silent prayers to God
As he dried my tears that day
You will think of all those pastimes
The ones that caused me grief
And now your tears start flowing
Your mind aching for relief
Still those bitter memories will remain
But my misty tears have ceased
For when you returned my inner strength
My tattered soul found peace
