Long Distance Friend

So much distance in between us
Yet so close we are at heart
So many things in common
Even though were far apart

I confide in you, my secrets
And I know their safe with you
On the days the tears are streaming
You are there to pull me through

I lean on you for comfort
Because I know you’ll understand
You talk me through the hard days
You help me change the things I can

To share our joys and tears of life
We just pick up the phone
We laugh and cry or celebrate
And we know were not alone

God gave to me some sunshine
When he placed you by my side
You always lend an ear to me
If in you I must confide

I thank God we found each other
As it was truly meant to be
I give to you, my heart, dear friend
Because you mean the world to me
