A Day at the Lake
A day at the lake, how splendid
Sound of water swishing around
Chasing whitecaps and butterflies
Squishing the sand on the ground
A day at the lake so relaxing
The fresh water smell in the air
Don’t want the day to end to quick
For that just wouldn’t be fair
A day at that lake so carefree
Squishing the sand between toes
Bounding happily along the shore
Throwing out worries and woes
A day at the lake so refreshing
A breeze gently caressing my soul
My spirit dances softly on sandbars
This day truly precious as gold
