Gone Too Soon
I reflect upon those past days
When you were but a child
How your love was innocent
Your heart so meek and mild
God had placed you in my path
And he knew what was in store
I helped to mold your innocence
Which made me love you more
I would never have imagined
That on some fateful afternoon
God would call upon your name
And you’d be gone too soon
God had foreseen all the reasons
Of why our paths would cross
Perhaps he saw that my heart
Would surely feel this loss
I reflect upon those days gone by
And I question why I lost touch
Of course those answers do not come
But my heart will miss you much
Gone to soon from this earth
Now I wish we weren’t apart
But I will always remember you
As the sweet child of my heart
